Our client is a registered non-life insurer specializing in providing short-term insurance cover for individuals and small corporates.
Role Purpose
To effectively manage sales operational areas, including people resource allocation, budgeting, systems, and processes, to ensure the achievement of strategic objectives and targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree / Advanced Diploma relevant to the industry
- At least 5 years of experience at a middle management level, specifically in a short-term insurance sales environment
- Leadership or management studies/qualifications advantageous
- FAIS representative (must have completed all relevant RE exams)
- 18 CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set operational strategy in conjunction with the Executive of Sales Services and Distribution
- Implement, drive, measure, monitor, and achieve strategic objectives and targets
- Increase sales revenue by achieving or surpassing sales targets and quotas, including identifying new sales opportunities, penetrating existing markets, and expanding into new markets
- Use management information effectively to manage sales operational areas, identify opportunities, risks, trends, and areas for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Identify potential risks and challenges impacting sales performance, such as market changes, competitive pressures, or regulatory issues
- Manage sales operations within the regulatory environment (Treating Customers Fairly, FAIS Act, Short Term Insurance Act, Policy Protection Rules, etc.)
- Continuously improve sales processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness, including streamlining workflows, implementing automation tools, and analyzing sales data
- Lead and develop staff to ensure high productivity and performance
- Maintain high staff morale
- Implement pay-for-performance models where applicable, with regular reviews alongside the Actuarial team
- Provide problem-solving assistance to staff within a reasonable timeframe
- Monitor effective communication processes
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers to promote repeat business and loyalty, potentially through CRM systems and customer feedback mechanisms
- Develop department budgets aligned with the strategic vision
- Monitor IDU budgets monthly, questioning and evaluating variances
