Job Title: Head of Reinsurance Accounting (Rosebank)

Job Description:

The Head of Reinsurance Accounting is responsible for the full end-to-end Reinsurance Accounting and Analytics process. The role includes designing the Reinsurance strategy, implementing data and systems requirements, and optimizing the Reinsurance structure.

Key Performance Areas:

• Functional Management:
• Responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and annual Reinsurance reporting and analysis.
• Managing Reinsurance data modelling requirements, sourcing, and reconciliation.
• Designing and implementing system and process solutions for Reinsurance agreements.
• Participating in Reinsurance forum meetings.
• Managing audit engagement issues.
• Ensuring Reinsurance Claims are recovered and accounted for.
• Setting and achieving Reinsurance financial targets up to R1 billion.
• Advising on Reinsurance strategy and SAM impacts.
• Contributing to Capital modelling and management.
• Preparing Risk profiles.
• Maintaining Reinsurance governance and controls.

Stakeholder Management:

Stakeholders include Internal Audit and External Audit.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Matric
• CA (SA) highly preferred
• 10 years’ experience in Insurance, with at least 5 in Reinsurance
