Job description

Our client is a leading multinational Independent Power Producer (IPP) with operations spanning four regions and a growing portfolio of renewable energy assets. As they expand their global footprint, they are seeking a dynamic Head of Procurement – Group Level to lead and elevate their procurement strategy across all jurisdictions.

Reporting directly to the Group COO, the Head of Procurement will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement function across the Group. This strategic role will oversee procurement operations in multiple regions, lead a cross-border team, and ensure alignment with business goals, cost optimization, and supply chain integrity.

Position: Head of Procurement - Group

Location: Western Cape, Cape Town

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or similiar (Minimum)

5 years minimum in senior management role within a group of companies

10 + year's experience in procurement within multinational company

Salary: R2mil to R2.4mil excluding performance bonus

Skills:

Very strong negotiation and communication skills

Procurement and contracts management

Knowledge of BBBEE

Renewable energy experience is advantageous, strong commercial experience and understanding is non-negotiable

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the Group’s global procurement strategy aligned with operational and sustainability objectives.
• Manage and lead a geographically dispersed procurement team across four regions.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies to support renewable energy projects
• Provide strategic input on operational procurement
• Lead supplier negotiations, partnerships, and contractual frameworks that support long-term business growth.
