Tasks

MFTE is a European manufacturer of commercial vehicles (Fuso Canter), located in Tramagal, municipality of Abrantes and it's an exclusive part of the Daimler Truck Group – one of the largest international producers in the automotive industry, which includes the brands Fuso, Mercedes, among others.

Main tasks (not limited to):

  • Plan, implement and monitor the Environment and Safety management system, in accordance with company policy and conformity obligations.
  • Plan, implement and monitor the Plant safety plan (including emergency plan). Act as the Fire Protection Officer - to protect people, assets and the environment from the hazards and impact of fires or other emergencies.
  • Develop, control and report activities to study and introduce energy efficiency processes and practices in accordance with company standards.
  • Plan and coordinate all installations (electricity, water, heat, steam, natural gas, compressed air, vehicle fluids, A/C, etc.) and refurbishments.
  • Manage security, access control, fire systems, environment, safety work, equipment definition.
  • Manage, plan, project and oversee buildings, area projects, renovations or refurbishments, including electrical, gas, water, waste projects and operations.
  • Elaborate planning documents, development of investments and expenses. Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness. Approve internal requisitions, orders for equipment and services, invoices, assets management and other related documents.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with relevant departments.
  • Search for innovation and technological solutions to support digitalization, connectivity and automation. Apply Total Productive Maintenance programs.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Manufacturing, Automotive, Production, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering. Additional Masters or Management degree is a plus.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken (mandatory).
  • Fluent in Portuguese, both written and spoken (eliminatory factor).
  • Experience: 5 years or more managing teams performing operations, development and planning activities related to production and products.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate the team, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Skill in conveying information clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to quickly identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Capability to make informed and assertive decisions, especially under pressure.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and consider different perspectives before acting.
  • Flexibility to adjust to changes in demands or working conditions.
  • Skill in handling conflicts constructively and promoting a harmonious work environment.
