Sans Souci Girls’ High School invites applications for the position of Head of Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy, commencing January 2027. The role leads the Mathematics Department, guiding curriculum planning, assessments, and learner progress while aligning with the school’s values and philosophy.

The successful candidate will have a teaching qualification with Mathematics specialization, SACE registration, and a track record of leading departments and mentoring teachers.

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification with Mathematics specialization.
• SACE registration is required.
• Minimum five years’ experience teaching Grade 12 Mathematics.
• Experience as Head of Mathematics or similar leadership role.
• Police Clearance Certificate will be required.
• Proficiency in MS Office and educational technology.

Responsabilités

• Lead, support and mentor the Mathematics teaching team.
• Ensure effective curriculum planning and implementation across the department.
• Monitor curriculum coverage and learner progress.
• Set and moderate assessments to ensure that appropriate academic standards are maintained.
• Analyse assessment results and implement interventions where necessary.
• Ensure Mathematics teaching aligns with the school’s philosophy of meeting individual learner needs.
• Drive excellence, innovation and continuous improvement within the Mathematics Department.
• Oversee Mathematics and Mathematical Literacy teaching, curriculum planning and standards.
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding learner progress and support.
• Contribute positively to the wider life, culture and values of the school.
