WHO ARE WE? A premium co-educational, IEB International private school situated on the outskirts of Durban.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Head of the Mathematics Department to join us from 1 April on a permanent full time basis.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

1. Plan, prepare and present interesting and exciting Mathematics lessons.
2. Establish a teaching environment that is nurturing and promotes engaged learning.
3. Behave professionally concerning punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and students' homework.
4. Evaluate, reflect on and refine teaching practice.
5. Be open to continuously developing one's teaching through personal and school-wide professional development.
6. Teach extra lessons, when required.
7. Oversee the Mathematics support teaching programme.
8. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the department to work together as a team, share ideas and develop resources cohesively.
9. Produce resources of a high standard for students.
10. Respond to e-mails and telephone messages from parents within 24 hours.
11. Show loyalty to all facets.
12. Attend all special occasions at the discretion of the relevant Head.
13. Set and mark exams and all other forms of student evaluation.
14. Write report comments.
15. The post holder is required to undertake any other reasonable tasks that the School Head / line manager determines.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

1. A minimum of 5 years experience with students in a secondary school and post 16.
2. Confidence in the use of ICT in teaching.
3. Previous IEB-teaching experience is advisable.
4. Previous experience in a high-performing international school.
5. University degree in an appropriate subject.
6. Certified Teaching Status.
