Our Head of Marketing

Our Head of Marketing is an exceptional leader who is strategic, collaborative, and results-driven. They utilize business acumen and functional expertise to correctly position our merchandise and brand to attract new customers and grow market share.

Reporting to the MD, the Head of Marketing will focus on developing and implementing company strategies and policies to ensure that brand positioning and product strategies improve the organisation’s competitive position and enable the achievement of KPIs.

  1. Formulate, lead, and measure the implementation of the marketing strategy for the business.
  2. Contribute to the development of the company strategy.
  3. Collaborate with key stakeholders to create an unforgettable customer experience via all channels.
  4. Ensure the customer remains central in the business, with regular updates on Brand DNA and communication for a customer-centric approach.
  5. Develop and implement the brand communication strategy, including above-the-line, below-the-line, digital, social media, PR, promotions, and advertising, ensuring effective execution.
  6. Develop and implement the brand visual strategy, including window displays, seasonal concepts, and visual displays, ensuring effective operational communication.
  7. Collaborate with internal partners to develop and implement segmented communication strategies for credit and club members.
  8. Control and monitor marketing budgets and investments to ensure profitable returns that support commercial goals.
  9. Brief, analyze, and deliver research and insights to relevant parties to inform business decisions.
  10. Contribute to management and board reports on the overall status of the marketing function, identifying opportunities and risks, and monitoring progress.
  11. Inspire, grow, and lead the marketing team through effective talent management and succession planning, fostering a passionate and high-performing team.
  12. Demonstrate and live the company's values.
  13. Possess a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably a post-graduate degree in marketing or related field.
  14. Have at least 8 years of relevant experience, including 5 years in a senior or management role.
  15. Possess knowledge of the retail value chain, market insights, and current and future trends.
  16. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team.
  17. Exhibit strong communication and negotiation skills to influence key business decisions.
  18. Be willing to travel locally or internationally when required.
  19. Demonstrate conflict management skills.
  20. Have a successful track record of leading creative teams.
  21. Understand various sales and trade platforms and territories.
