Job description

A rapidly growing African skincare brand is looking for a creative and strategic Head of Marketing to join their team in Cape Town.

As the Head of Marketing, you will lead the brand's end-to-end marketing strategy - building brand equity, driving commercial performance across direct-to-consumer and retail channels, and supporting international expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the full marketing strategy, aligning internal teams and agency partners to deliver brand and growth objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional marketing team while managing campaign execution across digital, retail, and e-commerce channels.
  • Oversee content creation and asset production for social media, CRM, retail POS, PR, and web, ensuring consistent brand expression.
  • Build and manage influencer, community, and word-of-mouth marketing programs to drive organic growth and brand advocacy.
  • Own and optimise the e-commerce platform (Shopify), including promotions, CRO, CRM, and retention strategies.
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, report on performance metrics, and optimise for ROI and long-term brand value.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 7+ years of marketing and brand experience, ideally in high-growth DTC, FMCG, or beauty/wellness sectors.
  • Demonstrated success building and scaling consumer brands.
  • Strong understanding of omnichannel growth and customer journeys across e-commerce and retail.
  • Strategic mindset with proven leadership experience in building, mentoring, and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Skilled in budget management, marketing performance analysis (including ROAS), and delivering compelling, creative brand content.

Salary and Benefits:

  • R840 000 - 1 020 000 CTC per year, depending on the candidate
