Job description

1. The Head of Marketing will own Lelive’s end-to-end marketing strategy and plan in South Africa—helping build the brand, shaping perception, driving profitable growth across DTC and retail.

2. You will also be required to drive the brand, content & systems engine that must support global expansion into new markets.

3. You’ll help define strategy, be part of the executive team, support the brand narrative and dive into execution, leading an in-house team and agency partners while using smart, creative marketing to deliver measurable results.

Experience: 7+ years in relevant marketing / brand roles.

Responsibilities:

  1. Set and execute marketing strategy; build the brand; align team and partners.
  2. Define objectives, translate into actionable roadmaps, and lead teams and agencies to ship work.
  3. Drive global brand, product, and marketing strategies, providing insights for brand positioning and growth.
  4. Plan and deliver against budgets, optimize spend, and maximize revenue and ROAS.
  5. Oversee content creation—manage in-house and freelance pipelines for social, CRM, retail POS, and PR assets.
  6. Collaborate with retail teams to craft business plans, strengthen merchandising, and amplify campaigns.
  7. Launch influencer, UGC, and community programs to spark conversation and expand brand awareness.
  8. Manage the ecommerce ecosystem—website (Shopify), CRO, promotions, CRM, and retention programs.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7+ years experience in marketing & brand roles in high-growth DTC, consumer goods, or related sectors.
  • Passion for beauty, culture, and storytelling.
  • Expertise in organic traction, word-of-mouth, and conversation-building.
  • Performance marketing skills to scale and reinforce organic momentum.
  • Omnichannel mindset integrating retail and e-commerce growth.
  • Strong planning and budgeting skills with a focus on ROAS.
  • Leadership experience with hands-on execution ability.
  • Creative eye for visuals and content.
  • Strategic yet practical approach.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
