Job summary

Persona Staff (PTY) Ltd seeks a senior production leader to take full responsibility for manufacturing and production operations. You will translate sales needs into feasible production plans and ensure targets and deadlines are met.

The role requires proven experience in metal fabrication environments, capacity planning, ERP systems, and a track record of improving productivity, reducing waste, and sustaining safety standards across the plant.

Qualifications

• Minimum N5 qualification.
• Senior production/manufacturing or factory management experience.
• Experience in manufacturing and metal fabrication environments.
• Proven experience in production planning, scheduling and capacity management.
• Experience managing complex production environments with multiple projects and deadlines.
• Experience with production management systems or ERP advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and overall management of manufacturing and production operations.
• Develop and manage production planning and scheduling to ensure targets and deadlines are achieved.
• Translate sales requirements into realistic production plans based on capacity, labour, machinery, materials and lead times.
• Monitor production progress, identify bottlenecks and delays, and implement corrective action.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Ensure manufacturing processes and outputs meet required quality standards.
• Work with Engineering, Sales, Procurement and Logistics to ensure effective planning and flow.
• Ensure resources are available to support production requirements.
• Oversee manufacturing processes and maintain operational controls and policies.
• Lead and mentor factory managers, supervisors, artisans and production teams.
• Promote communication, teamwork and accountability across the manufacturing environment.
• Ensure health and safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Take ownership of production challenges and provide practical, timely solutions.

• Ensure manufacturing processes and outputs meet required quality standards.
• Work closely with Engineering, Sales, Procurement and Logistics to ensure effective planning and operational flow.
• Ensure materials, drawings, labour, machinery and other resources are available to support production requirements.
• Oversee manufacturing processes and ensure operational procedures, policies and controls are implemented and maintained.
• Lead, develop and mentor factory managers, supervisors, artisans and production teams.
• Promote communication, teamwork, employee engagement and accountability across the manufacturing environment.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and promote a strong safety culture.
• Take ownership of production challenges and provide practical, timely and commercially sound solutions.

Requirements

• Minimum N5 tertiary qualification.
• Proven experience in a senior production, manufacturing or factory management role.
• Strong experience within manufacturing and metal fabrication environments.
• Proven experience in production planning, scheduling and capacity management.
• Experience managing complex production environments with multiple projects, competing priorities and deadlines.
• Experience with production management systems, ERP systems or manufacturing software will be advantageous.
