Job description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Admitted attorney / advocate with LL.B. or equivalent qualification.
  • 3 - 5 years' post-admission legal experience, preferably in corporate or commercial law.
  • At least 5 - 10 years of commercial law experience, ideally within the FMCG or a related industry.
  • Strong understanding of corporate governance and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to serve as Company Secretary, ensuring regulatory and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on all legal matters affecting the company, including contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation, and corporate governance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements to ensure the company's best interests are protected.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations applicable to the FMCG industry.
  • Manage legal risks and provide proactive legal solutions to mitigate potential exposure.
  • Oversee and manage litigation and disputes, liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Advise on employment law matters, intellectual property, and regulatory affairs.
  • Act as Company Secretary when required, ensuring corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support the Chairman and senior management on strategic legal matters and corporate decision-making.
