About The Role

The Head of Learning Design at HyperionDev is a full-time position leading course design, development, and evaluation within the Learning Experience team. This new role oversees our course strategy, ensuring learners acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and behaviors for a career in tech.

Reporting directly to the Director of Learning Experience, you will manage a team of learning designers, course evaluators, and specialists, setting goals for new course development and maintaining existing offerings. The role requires strategic thinking, effective prioritization, and management of multiple tasks and teams to meet ambitious targets related to course quality, student satisfaction, retention, and engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee new course development and existing portfolio maintenance to improve learner success, course completion rates, retention, and satisfaction.
  • Enhance course building and maintenance strategies for efficiency and quality.
  • Align department and business goals with team operations.
  • Manage and develop team members through goal setting, resource allocation, performance assessment, coaching, and feedback.
  • Coordinate course production and updates with relevant departments.
  • Monitor and improve success metrics related to course quality and student outcomes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to implement scalable teaching and learning approaches.
Requirements
Minimum
  • 7+ years in learning/instruction design, preferably in EdTech.
  • 5+ years managing teams of 5+ individuals.
  • Deep understanding of learning design and educational technology in online/hybrid higher education.
  • Experience working with prestigious university partners.
  • Experience vetting and onboarding scalable methodologies, tools, and platforms.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Sound business acumen.
Preferred
  • Degree in Learning Design, Instructional Design, or related field.
  • Experience scaling teams in a startup environment, especially in EdTech.
  • Familiarity with project management tools like Jira, Notion, Asana, etc.
  • Experience with accreditation processes and STEM/Coding content production.
