Job summary

Labourtek Pty Ltd in the Western Cape is seeking a Head of Laboratory Services to lead and oversee the analytical and microbiological laboratory within our FMCG manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring quality, food safety, and efficient laboratory operations.

The ideal candidate will hold a National Diploma or Degree in Biochemistry, Food Science or Analytical Chemistry, with 5+ years in FMCG labs and at least 2 years in supervision.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, Analytical Chemistry, or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in an FMCG food manufacturing laboratory environment, with 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, ISO 22000 or BRCGS).

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee analytical and microbiological laboratory operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in laboratory workflows and results.
