Job summary

Labourtek Pty Ltd in the Western Cape is seeking a Head of Laboratory Services to lead the analytical and microbiological laboratory within our FMCG food processing operations.

You will manage day-to-day lab activities, ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, and drive performance improvements across testing, compliance, and reporting for the facility. Collaborate with quality, production and R&D teams to maintain accuracy, timeliness and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, analytical chemistry or similar.
• Minimum 5 years in FMCG laboratory environments with 2+ years in supervision.
• Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000 or BRCGS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage analytical and microbiological laboratory operations.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and quality systems.
• Drive continuous improvement in testing methods and results.
