Job description

Over the last decade, Webrepublic has grown from an ambitious startup into Switzerland’s leading digital agency. More recently, Webrepublic has launched a subsidiary in South Africa to work hand-in-hand with our HQ in Switzerland. Our team in Cape Town has grown, and we are now looking for a Head of IT Operations to expand our local presence into a large-scale operation.

As Head of IT Operations, you'll lead the entire company’s global IT strategy and operations, overseeing reliable infrastructure and critical transformation projects like our “Monopoly” ERP rollout. You will optimize processes across project management, finance, and HR, collaborating with the CFO, senior management, and business teams. Your leadership will elevate IT from a support function to a strategic enabler of growth and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the CFO, your duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• responsible for IT governance, security, operations, and continuous system development,
• plan and operate IT services to optimally support business processes,
• manage IT architecture and service design,
• handle IT budgeting, controlling, and procurement,
• collaborate with the head of business operations to prioritize technical and process changes,
• develop and lead a distributed IT operations team,
• serve as a sparring partner for Management on technical and strategic IT questions,
• ensure exceptional IT service for all internal clients,
• manage end-user devices (macOS/Windows), network, and critical business infrastructure (e.g. Projektron BCS, BLP, Abacus),
• manage and maintain security infrastructure (e.g., Zscaler, Google Workspace, JumpCloud),
• operate and extend MDM and directory solutions,
• monitor system utilization, handle notifications/security warnings, and initiate actions/escalations,
• ensure security practices are implemented and operations adhere to guidelines,
• keep documentation for operational processes and end-user self-service pages up-to-date,
• oversee employee on/off-boarding processes and continuously improve the end-user customer journey.
  
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

As an ideal candidate, you must have the following:

• bring team-leadership and IT planning and budgeting experience,
• have managed a team and a distributed technology environment,
• have in-depth IT knowledge in both Mac and Windows environments, as well as in advanced network engineering, in addition to well-developed hardware and software skills,
• bring a strong understanding of IT security principles and best practices,
• collaborate closely with the CFO & senior management of the company to ensure IT systems effectively support the various internal stakeholders.
