Head of IT Operations - CapeTown - Datafin IT Recruitment

Lead the delivery of IT Service Delivery, IT Infrastructure Management, Technical Architecture, IT continuity management and IT finance administration functions for a dynamic Financial Services Group.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage processes, procedures and vendors to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Prevent, recover and resolve IT problems and incidents through robust governance aligned with ITIL Service Management principles.
• Deliver changes and releases to the IT environment while ensuring business continuity.
• Monitor and improve performance against Service and Operational Level Agreements.
• Handle priority incidents and escalations effectively.
• Evaluate the maturity of Service Management, Technical Architecture and Continuity functions in line with an agreed strategy.
• Develop technical system architecture, solution planning and legacy/obsolescence renewal strategies.
• Plan strategic roadmaps with team Service Managers and Technical SMEs.
• Identify, escalate and mitigate risks to ensure a culture of continuous service improvement.
• Manage internal and external relationships.
• Stay up-to-date with market developments to support business objectives.
• Ensure alignment with Regional and Group governance requirements.
• Optimize team performance, succession and engagement.
• Set goals, define KPIs and manage performance in line with business strategy.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within and across teams.
• Manage IT contracts and reviews.
• Facilitate training and development.

Requirements:

• Relevant Degree or Diploma.
• ITIL Expert certificate or equivalent.

Experience/Skills:

• At least 5 years of experience in managing IT teams, processes, governance and frameworks.

Advantageous:

• Experience in the Financial Services industry.
