Job summary

The Head of Trading at Nile is the senior leader responsible for the commercial strategy and profitability of the Fresh Produce division. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, build deep relationships with buyers and farmers, and ensure balanced growth while maintaining strong operational discipline.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in commercial, sales or trading roles with senior leadership experience.
• Proven track record leading managers and multi-layered teams.
• Full P&L ownership; strong grasp of gross profit, pricing, working capital and credit risk.
• Credibility with senior buyers, commercial farmers and executive stakeholders.
• Runs the business from data and dashboards; quick to adopt new tools, including AI.
• Relevant tertiary qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own commercial strategy and profitability for the Fresh Produce division.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary team and build relationships with buyers and farmers.
• Drive supply and demand growth, pricing and market expansion.
• Oversee export strategy, performance and key client relationships.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and customer success to scale tech.
• Attend industry events to represent Nile and form partnerships.
