Job Description:

Strategic Financial Leadership:

• Design and implement the company’s financial strategy to drive growth and strengthen its competitive positioning.
• Deliver financial insights to the executive team and board to inform and guide strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with various business units to assess the financial impact of new products, markets, and partnerships.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring processes.
• Conduct variance analysis, providing actionable insights to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
• Develop financial models to support decisions on pricing strategies, revenue expansion, and cost reduction.

Operational Accounting & Reporting:

• Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local accounting standards.
• Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions.
• Ensure robust financial controls are in place to maintain the integrity of financial reporting.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with tax regulations in both South Africa and the US (parent company).
• Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and implement strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.
• Oversee regulatory reporting to the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) and other relevant authorities.

Treasury & Cash Management:

• Optimize cash flow management, ensuring sufficient liquidity for both operational needs and growth objectives.
• Manage banking relationships and streamline banking operations, including settlements and reconciliations.
• Mitigate financial risks, particularly those related to currency fluctuations and interest rate exposures.

Risk Management & Internal Controls:

• Develop and sustain a strong internal control system to safeguard company assets.
• Identify and manage various financial risks, including operational, credit, and fraud risks.
• Ensure compliance with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) regulations.

Leadership & Team Development:

• Build and lead a high-performing finance team, nurturing a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Offer mentorship and professional development opportunities to finance team members.

Skills & Experience:

• Registered CA(SA)
• A minimum of 8 years post article experience
• A minimum of 4 years of managerial experience
• Experience in Fintech
• Proven track record of leading financial Ops in a regulated environment
• Out of the box strategic thinker

Qualification:

• CA(SA)
• CFA highly beneficial
