Responsibilities
  • Strategic Financial Planning & Policy: Develop, communicate, manage, and implement corporate and divisional strategic financial plans, budgets, policies, and procedures.
  • Operational Financial Management: Oversee and manage all financial management and reporting functions, including full P&L responsibility. Guide the implementation and management of costing, accounting, and financial policies and processes.
  • Financial Reporting & Control: Ensure accurate and timely financial guidance, frameworks, and reporting in line with strategic plans, company policy, and IFRS. Review and sign off on financial reports, forecasts, budgets, balance sheets, and expenditures.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Set annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, manage capital expenditure plans, and ensure expenditure containment.
  • Audit & Risk Management: Review, assess, and guide the mitigation of all financial concerns and risks. Implement effective processes for risk assessment, feasibility assessment, and planning. Manage the legal and economic implications of financial activities and oversee internal and external audits.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage a team of four direct reports, fostering a high-performance culture and providing guidance on financial strategies and operational priorities.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Provide technical and operational input during the drafting of the SA Operations strategy and operational objectives. Collaborate with management to identify and pursue innovative opportunities.
Qualifications

Must-Haves:

  • 10 years of relevant experience in a financial management environment.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment and in the management of staff.
  • Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with a fully integrated ERP system.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.
  • Strong capability in setting and endorsing standards.
  • Excellent ability to create clarity and interpret and internalize information.
  • Proven decision-making skills, particularly in complex and ambiguous situations.

  • Experience in developing new processes, tools, and services that impact the department.
