Introduction

We are looking to recruit a permanent Head of Finance to work for United Pharmaceutical Distributors (UPD).

The role will be based at the Roodepoort Lea Glen branch and will report to the Managing Executive UPD.

Job Purpose :

To effectively develop & execute financial direction; appropriately assess & allocate financial resources to the BU, thereby enhancing the business unit's financial health through the achievement of its financial targets, in compliance with the business governance framework.

Key Performance Areas :
  1. Develop & implement rigorous financial planning & reporting processes to ensure accurate and accessible financial/non-financial reports that positively impact decision-making and mitigate risk.
  2. Co-create the business strategic agenda and support the delivery of a compelling and sustainable brand proposition by contributing effectively across functions as an executive team member.
  3. Ensure financial results are accurately and promptly recorded in accordance with applicable standards and legislation.
  4. Manage the business unit's finances within set metrics to ensure efficient resource allocation aligned with group goals.
  5. Continuously assess the business model's performance and effectiveness considering economic, market, and competitor factors to guide appropriate measures.
  6. Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to uphold confidence and support.
  7. Manage Business Development, Project Management, and Design to ensure optimal capital and resource utilization.
  8. Ensure compliance with operational processes to align with the group's governance framework and mitigate risks.
  9. Develop and drive the achievement of the financial plan for the business unit.
  10. Manage and develop personnel to build capability for current and future business needs.
