Job description

Head of Finance position available in Centurion.

The Head of Finance is responsible for leading and overseeing the financial management strategy and operations across the organisation.

This includes financial planning, reporting, compliance, stakeholder management, risk control, investment analysis, and team leadership.

The role supports long-term financial sustainability, ensures regulatory compliance, and delivers strategic financial input to guide business growth and corporate governance.

Salary : R50 – R60 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities : Financial Planning & Analysis : Develop and implement financial goals, strategies, and policies aligned with business objectives.

Lead the preparation and management of the annual budget.

Oversee accurate financial data input, security, and reporting.

Analyse trends in revenue, expenses, and forecasting to support executive decision-making.

Financial Reporting & Audits : Prepare accurate financial statements including income, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.

Coordinate external audits and ensure timely and accurate regulatory submissions.

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting frameworks.

Internal Controls & Compliance : Maintain robust accounting records, reconciliations, and general ledgers.

Conduct internal audits and ensure the implementation of best practices in financial controls.

Enforce adherence to organisational policies and compliance with governance standards (e.g., QMS).

Stakeholder Management : Manage relationships with financial institutions, auditors, clients, and suppliers.

Oversee compliance interactions with regulatory bodies (e.g., SARS, industry regulators).

Provide financial insights and updates to executive leadership and board members.

Team Leadership : Lead the finance department and oversee day-to-day operations.

Conduct performance reviews and define development goals for finance staff.

Drive training, coaching, and succession planning across the department.

Investment Management & Strategy : Evaluate investment opportunities and provide strategic recommendations.

Manage and optimise the company's investment portfolio and associated risks.

Risk Management : Identify financial risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.

Establish and enforce internal financial controls and risk management systems.

Technology Integration : Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial IT systems.

Ensure systems enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.

Corporate Governance : Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.

Provide financial insights for board-level decision-making, including strategic planning and forecasting.

Requirements : Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Professional Certification : CA(SA), CPA, ACCA, or equivalent (mandatory).

Advanced Degree (preferred) : Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration.

Minimum of 10 years in financial management, including 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Strong technical experience in budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and audit compliance.

Previous experience in sectors such as security services, logistics, or related industries is advantageous.
