Job description

• Design integrated electronics for new products such as enhanced circuit breakers, energy meters, remote monitoring, and IoT connected products.

Main Responsibilities

• The Design Engineering department is responsible for innovation, design simulations, specifying bill of materials, rapid prototyping, firmware integration, and documentation of assemblies or systems for use in:
• Products for electrical protection and energy metering.
• Automated test equipment to support CBI's mass manufacturing processes.

The individual’s role in the department is flexible such that responsibilities and remuneration will scale with the level of experience, skills, and career goals of the applicant.

• Liaise with internal and external role players (e.g., Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Software Engineering, Project Management, Certification, Tool Design, Procurement, Suppliers, Sales, Export) to support innovation, design, and manufacturing.
• May be required to travel to customers, suppliers, or CBI's other sites occasionally.

Requirements

• Minimum BSc (Eng. / BEng) degree in Electronics.
• 3-10 years design experience in Electronic design, PCB layout, and prototyping.
• Writing software / embedded firmware.

Advantageous

• Relevant Master’s Degree or other relevant qualifications.
• Knowledge of IoT, networking, system integration, and other software.
• Self-motivated working unsupervised or remotely.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary design team.
• Taking ownership of projects and executing from problem identification to implementation.
