Job description

Penryn NPC, situated in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, is an independent co-educational school with a Christian ethos, linked to the Methodist Church. Penryn is a member of ISASA and a global member of the Round Square organisation. We invite dynamic, committed, and forward-thinking educators to apply for the role of HOD: Senior Preparatory (Grades 4 – 7). This is an opportunity to lead, inspire, and shape the academic journey of scholars in the Senior Phase.

Key Requirements

  • Recognised professional teaching qualification (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE)
  • SACE registration, with relevant clearance certificates.
  • At least 5 years of successful teaching experience in Preparatory (Grades 4 – 7).
  • Proven track record of leadership or coordination within an educational context.
  • Oversee curriculum planning, implementation, and review to ensure alignment with national standards and school vision.
  • Mentor and support teachers to enhance and innovate instructional practice and scholar outcomes.
  • Analyse assessment data to inform teaching strategies and intervention plans.
  • Coordinate subject meetings, internal moderation, and professional development.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills liaising with school management, parents, and external bodies as needed.
  • Contribute actively to school initiatives, events, and strategic planning.
