Job summary

Sanlam Limited, via NMS Insurance Services, is building a platform-driven decisioning capability that spans insurance, customer intelligence and pricing. The Head: Decision Intelligence will own enterprise data strategy and governance, and steer a cross‑functional team of data scientists and engineers.

You will lead end-to-end model governance, ML/AI enablement, and the move from siloed analytics to ecosystem intelligence, partnering with executives and multiple business units to optimise value

Qualifications

• Degree in data science or related quantitative field.
• 5–8 years experience in analytics, data science or data engineering.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) with production models.
• Experience governing multi-partner data delivery, SLA management and governance.
• Ability to translate complex analytics into commercial decisions.
• Experience in financial services or insurance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the integrated data model across domains and connect signals.
• Govern data delivery SLAs with partners and drive data flows to maturity.
• Lead model governance, performance monitoring and executive reporting.
• Design decision frameworks for acquisition, retention and cross-sell.
• Chair DI operating rhythm and manage governance with stakeholders.
