Head of Commercial Finance

Our client is currently seeking a dynamic, financially minded individual for their Head of Commercial Finance position.

This is a critical role requiring a strategic thinker capable of driving financial strategies while supporting various departments.

The successful candidate must have extensive experience in the financial sector.

He / She will be responsible for developing, leading, and managing all commercial activities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Involvement: Provide strategic and commercial input into the renewable business, including pipeline, revenue, and cost management. Develop business cases, review supplier proposals, analyze financial data, and assess project performance post-implementation.
2. Commercialisation: Activate business opportunities, develop go-to-market strategies, and strategize commercial offerings.
3. Collaboration: Work with business units to gather information for solar and water proposals and identify technical solutions to improve performance.
4. Risk Management: Implement effective controls, review legal contracts, and ensure adequate insurance coverage.
5. Consulting & Mentorship: Provide expertise, mentorship, and support across business operations.
6. Group Support: Contribute to strategic planning, process documentation, and support budgeting and property portfolio decisions.
7. IT & Systems: Advise on and implement new IT systems, including smart metering solutions.
8. Financial Reporting & Management: Oversee financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and manage funding solutions and utility cost recovery models.
9. Compliance & Risk: Maintain financial controls, policies, and manage weekly cash flows. Engage with external audits.
10. Special Projects: Support financial modeling and review of mergers, acquisitions, and regulatory projects.
11. Human Investment: Manage team performance and stakeholder relationships, including leadership, tenants, municipalities, and service providers.

Requirements:

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA))
