Job summary

TFG is seeking a Head of Buying and Design to lead the @home Homeware portfolio (Textiles and Kitchen, Dining & Appliances). You will set the buying, trend and design direction for the portfolio and lead high-performing buying, trend, design and product development teams to deliver differentiated, design-led and commercially successful ranges across store and online.

Reporting to the Head of Brands & Merchandise, you will drive turnover growth and gross margin through range planning, pricing

Qualifications

• 15+ years of retail buying and sourcing experience.
• 5+ years at Head of Buying level with proven leadership.
• Proven track record managing multi-category portfolios (R1 billion+) with turnover, margin and market share responsibility.
• Turnaround and transformation success with a customer-led product strategy.
• Experience leading private label product from concept to shelf.
• Strong local and offshore supplier partnerships with direct imports exposure.
• Experience in both premium and value retail environments; Good/Better/Best ranges.
• Homeware/textiles experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the Homeware buying and design strategy for @home in line with the Brand strategy.
• Deliver turnover growth and gross margin through range planning, pricing and in-season actions.
• Lead trend, design and product development to land a distinct, design-led proposition.
• Lead category turnaround and growth with customer-led strategies.
• Build sourcing strategy balancing make, imports and buying decisions.
• Build and manage supplier relationships, negotiating terms with margins and quality.
• Collaborate with Planning and E-commerce to optimise stock and omnichannel outcomes.
• Lead and develop buying, trend, design and product development teams.
