Reporting to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Location: Johannesburg or Durban

Salary up to 1.5 million per annum depending on qualifications and experience

Essentials for the Role

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field (MBA advantageous).
• Minimum 8-10 years of business development experience in logistics, clearing, and forwarding industries specializing in mining. Candidates WHO ARE NOT FROM THIS INDUSTRY WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
• Proven track record of securing large-scale contracts and growing key accounts.
• Strong network and industry relationships within regional and international logistics markets specializing in mining and minerals.
• Experience with pricing, tender processes, and client negotiations.
• Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams.

Objectives of this Role

• Lead and implement business development strategies that contribute to sustainable revenue growth.
• Identify new market segments and expand the company's footprint across target geographies.
• Build and maintain a robust pipeline of high-value prospects across all service offerings.
• Strengthen the company's brand presence and relationships with key stakeholders and partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development plans in alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
• Lead market research efforts to identify potential clients, sectors, and trends.
• Oversee the end-to-end sales cycle including client engagement, proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and client briefings.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing business development and sales team.
