About the Role

The Head of Acquisition is a pivotal leadership role within our Commercial Excellence portfolio, reporting directly to the Rest of EMEA Acquisition Lead.

This is a high-impact position responsible for driving Uber Eats' growth across Sub-Saharan Africa by leading our merchant acquisition strategy and execution.

You will oversee a tiered team structure, including sub-leads focused on different market segments, and a broader group of account managers responsible for acquiring and onboarding high-quality restaurant and retail partners. Our mission on the Eats team is to serve as a reliable growth engine for our merchant partners.

The Uber Eats business across SSA continues to scale in complex and rapidly evolving environments, and this role is central to ensuring that growth is both sustainable and value-driven. As Head of Acquisition, you will own core performance metrics that directly impact the team's P&L, and you'll work cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the broader SSA and EMEA organizations.

This role offers exposure to multiple business functions and strategic workstreams, providing the opportunity to develop a diverse and robust commercial skill set.

What You'll Do

  1. Lead and manage a high-performing team responsible for converting inbound leads and generating new prospects to grow our Eats merchant base.
  2. Drive commercial outcomes by ensuring the team secures restaurant and retail partnerships at competitive and sustainable service fee rates.
  3. Collaborate with internal teams to support seamless onboarding of new merchants, ensuring a high-quality experience that enables long-term partner success.
  4. Shape and enhance merchant value propositions on the platform through strategic initiatives such as merchant-led promotions and special offers.
  5. Partner with Uber Eats leadership across EMEA and SSA to align on acquisition strategy, streamline onboarding processes, and identify opportunities to unlock merchant earning potential.

What You'll Need

  1. 10+ years of experience in account management, business development, or sales, with a proven track record in a leadership role.
  2. Strong knowledge of the restaurant, retail, or food delivery sectors, with a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
  3. Demonstrated success in goal-setting and executional excellence, especially in a project or cross-functional context.
  4. Experience leading and mentoring teams, with a focus on performance management, coaching, and operational alignment.
  5. Proven negotiation skills with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics and reach mutually beneficial outcomes.
  6. Strong business acumen, with an ability to understand and communicate the Uber Eats business model to both internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder management skills—this role requires close coordination with teams across Kenya and the wider EMEA region.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently.

If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let's move the world forward, together.
