Head: Non-Life Pricing & Structuring (Cell Captive)

Join to apply for the Head: Non-Life Pricing & Structuring (Cell Captive) role at Guardrisk. The Structuring and Solutions team serves as the key contact point between various segments and technical support areas, focusing on client service and solution development.

The team collaborates closely with marketing to structure new deals, provide insights, and support pricing, product development, and capital modeling of new business prospects.

Role Purpose

The team provides technical support in pricing, product development, and capital structuring for new business opportunities.

Requirements
  • Qualified or nearly qualified actuary (FASSA or equivalent).
  • Successful completion of F or equivalent.
  • Bachelor's or Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field (NQF Level 7+).
  • 5–8 years' experience in the non-life insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial pricing techniques and product structuring.
  • Exposure to the SAM capital regime.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and ensure team alignment with business goals.
  • Manage product development, pricing frameworks, and structuring initiatives.
  • Review and approve pricing models, ensuring compliance.
  • Lead rate reviews and re-pricing exercises.
  • Assess and approve new product offerings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on deal structuring, offering actuarial insights.
  • Support clients in designing bespoke products focusing on innovation and profitability.
  • Monitor financial performance and product profitability.
  • Act as a senior technical advisor, translating complex insights into business actions.
