Job Purpose
- Leading a team of 18 Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts and Transactional Bankers in the Agric and Business Banking segment for Growth and Premium clients delivering financial solutions and all manner of banking to our clients.
- Implementing the Business Banking value proposition, being accountable for Agric and Business clients relationships, and associated financial and non-financial outcomes aligned to the strategic value drivers of Standard Bank.
- Design and implement customer retention and customer acquisition strategies aimed at ensuring acquisition of valuable and profitable customers. This include defining an end-to-end process of acquiring clients to ensure that all relevant capabilities e.g. products, sector specialists etc. execute in an integrated and seamless manner to enable and fast track acquisition.
Job Description
- Coach, Train and Motivate your team of Relationship Managers, Credit Analysts and Transactional Bankers to ensure the highest levels of financial solutioning, technical know-how, efficiency and effectiveness. Having a deep understanding of the types of farming in this geography is critical to enable effective technical coaching to the team members.
- Provide a central advisory and support role to your team and assist with, client relationships, credit application motivations and arbitrations.
- Ensuring that close personal attention is given to ensure the team provide a full array of customized financial solutions tailored to meet the growth needs and potential of our clients within the portfolios.
- Act as a trusted advisor by developing a deep understanding of client’s business through regular interaction with clients at their place of business as per segment value proposition guidelines.
- To motivate agricultural and business finance applications and to successfully present the case to a business and credit lending committee.
- Analyse and understand your operational areas to design, implement and execute on successful acquisition strategies and tactics through your team.
- Plan and Execute a Contact Management Strategy for existing and new to bank clients.
- To build trust, credibility and confidence with Agricultural and Business Clients.
Qualifications
Minimum Degree Requirements, one of the below qualifications or similar:
Preferable:
- B.Comm (Agricultural Economics)
- BSc. (Agricultural Economics)
Or
- B.Comm (Management Accounting)
- B.Comm (Accounting)
Preferable / Advantages:
- Honours Degree
- SAICA Articles / CA(SA)
- CIMA Qualified / (ACMA)
Experience Requirements:
10 Years experience in the following fields or similar:
- Business Centre Manager, Agric Area Manager, Agric Relationship Manager or an Agric Specialist role in Business and Commercial Banking.
- Agricultural Knowledge and Experience of the types of farming in the area is essential
- At least 5 years’ experience in managing teams.
Location:
- The position will be based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape.
- Area of operations: Western half of the Eastern Cape, excluding the Nelson Mandela Metro
- Extensive travelling will be required.
