Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a Head Chef for a prestigious game reserve based near Grahamstown. This is a livein position offering an excellent opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to lead and work handson in a dynamic and authentic bush setting.

The ideal candidate will have at least two years experience in a Head Chef role within a lodge or fine dining environment and must be confident in both kitchen operations and guestfacing food preparation.

Key Responsibilities :

Handson preparation cooking and presentation of meals for guests during scheduled shifts

Manage all aspects of daytoday kitchen operations

Lead and supervise the kitchen team to maintain high culinary standards

Create and cost menus that reflect seasonal availability and guest preferences

Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all meals served

Maintain strict hygiene health and safety standards in the kitchen

Monitor food costs minimize wastage and maintain profitability

Work collaboratively with lodge departments to ensure seamless guest experiences

Requirements :

Minimum 2 years experience as a Head Chef

Previous fine dining or luxury lodge experience preferred

Proven costing and budget management skills

Strong leadership and team coordination abilities

Willingness to work in a remote lodge environment

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Creative and passionate about delivering a toptier culinary experience

Package :

Salary : R20000 R26000 per month (dependent on experience)

Livein accommodation provided

Work cycle : 21 days on / 7 days off
