Chemical Engineer Qualification with Operations experience

Degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related field with operations specialization.

Experience in liquid treatment plants, hazardous waste management, and facilities management.

10 to 15 years of verifiable, traceable experience in hazardous waste management and operations.

People leadership and chemical industry experience will be advantageous.

Code 08 license and own transport are mandatory.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Controlling hazardous waste disposal and liquids treatment activities in Gauteng.
  2. Maximizing diversion of hazardous waste from landfills.
  3. Ensuring health and safety of all subordinates.
  4. Maintaining the company's image to international standards.
  5. Meeting all legislative requirements regarding waste disposal.
  6. Representing the company professionally and reporting opportunities to management.
  7. Communicating effectively regarding incidents, accidents, and safety, health, or environmental issues.
  8. Adhering to the company's Health and Safety and Quality policies.
  9. Reporting customer feedback and safety risks.
  10. Implementing emergency plans and mitigating high-risk tasks.
  11. Maximizing waste diversion from landfills and improving treatment processes.
  12. Managing labor, leave, and sick leave documentation.
  13. Conducting sales feedback meetings and exploring new opportunities.
  14. Ensuring accurate documentation for finance and permits.
  15. Recognizing staff and managing wages to minimize overtime.
  16. Investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
