Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in electronic equipment testing and repairs.
  • Proficient in technical report writing and test bench development.

Job description

We are looking for a Hardware Technologist for Electronic Equipment testing, fault finding and repairs, electronic test equipment, test bench development (hardware and software), and documentation, technical report writing, acceptance test procedure and test report development.


Minimum Requirements:

  1. Completed a BTech, Advanced Diploma or National Diploma in Electronic Engineering.
  2. At least 5 years' experience in:
    1. Electronic equipment
    2. Acceptance Testing
    3. Fault finding and repairs
    4. Operational and Qualification testing
    5. Technical Report writing after various tests
    6. Test Bench development (hardware and software)
    7. Acceptance Test Procedure and Acceptance
    8. Test Report development
    9. PCB Soldering
    10. Equipment assembly and testing
  3. Non-negotiable required skills:
    1. Reading and understanding circuit diagrams
    2. Fault finding and repairs
    3. Electronics components identification
    4. Knowledge of how to use measuring instruments
    5. Knowledge of electronics communication (e.g. CAN, RS232, RS485, RS422, ETHERNET, etc)
    6. Technical Report writing ability
    7. Basic coding/programming skill
    8. Knowledge and understanding of how to write code and use at least one electronics development environment.
  4. Software proficiencies: MS Office, Python/C/C++, and CAD (e.g. Altium/ Proteas/Easy EDA, etc).
  5. RSA Citizen
  6. No criminal record

Preferably already reside in the Cape Town region or be willing to relocate to Cape Town at own cost.
