Job summary

P&L in Seshego, Polokwane, is seeking a Counter Sales professional to assist customers with inquiries and purchases at the sales counter. You will process transactions, manage payments, and keep the showroom tidy with strong product knowledge.

The role requires Grade 12, 1 year of hardware retail sales experience, and willingness to work weekends/holidays. Carpentry knowledge is advantageous, and you must handle stressful situations with accuracy.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF 4 qualifications.
• 1 year sales experience in a hardware retail, wholesale or similar environment.
• 1 year carpentry experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
• Well developed problem solving and analytical skills.
• Must be willing to work shifts, weekends, and Public Holidays.
• Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Accurate processing of order request received from customers.
• Accurate processing of sales made by customers.
• Accurate receipt of payments received and related banking processes.
• Provide reliable, prompt Customer Service.
• Advise Customers correctly on product.
• Assist Customer with any product queries.
• Assist with Customer complaints timely.
• Must be available in area of responsibility.
• Assist in other departments as and when required
• Product knowledge on all products and services offered.
• Assist with packing stock away as per allocated bins.
• Ensure stock is merchandised immediately after being received.
• Ensure sales counters is kept free of stock and in a presentable manner.
• Safety (OHSA) compliance within area of responsibility.
• Stock in area of responsibility is to be merchandised in a safe manner.
• Be aware of suspicious behaviours or people and report any suspicions to Management.
• No product to be loaded for a customer without proof of purchase or required documentation.
