Job description

As the hangar assistant, your role will be to assist the Engineering department in all areas of maintenance pertaining to the following but not limited to : company aircraft; hangar / facility, all equipment and company vehicles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Assist Engineers with maintenance of the company`s aircraft and ensuring that the recommended manufacturers maintenance procedures and practises are adhered to.
• Adhering to all company policies, procedures and manuals.
• Maintenance of all ground support equipment and when outsourced maintenance is required, liaise with senior personnel to obtain quotes and oversee required maintenance.
• Keep to Cleanliness Standards as per the Civil Aviation Regulations, 2011, as amended.
• Aircraft cleaning.
• Assist engineers with aircraft arrivals and departures.
• Offload and load arriving and departing aircraft baggage bays.
• Drive passenger vehicles from the aircraft parking bay to the vehicle parking bay.
• Dealing with passengers at a minimal level.
• Assisting all maintenance personnel, as requested.

ENVIRONMENT :

• Persons will be required to work outside the facility from time to time.
• Persons will be required to work over weekends and public holidays on short-notice, dependent on operational requirements.
• Required to be on standby due to operational requirements.
• Lift heavy goods, as and when required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :

Knowledge / Qualification

• Minimum Tertiary Qualification – Grade 12
• Valid driver’s license (Code 08)
• Reliable transport
• Previous Aviation experience advantages
• Prior Technical experience in any field will be considered
• Knowledge of Microsoft office (MS-Excel, MS-Word, Outlook).
