Level Up - Your Talent Partner is seeking a hands-on Software Developer to join a small in-house team. You will work closely with a senior developer to maintain and enhance a long-established business-critical application built with C#, VB.NET and SQL Server.

The role suits someone who enjoys understanding existing systems, troubleshooting complex problems and incremental improvements rather than greenfield work.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience.
• Solid experience with C# (.NET Framework / .NET).
• Working knowledge of VB.NET and maintaining VB.NET code.
• Strong SQL Server skills: stored procedures, views, joins, transactions, data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the existing Windows-based business application.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve defects in C# and VB.NET.
• Develop and enhance functionality within the existing application architecture.
• Write and optimise Microsoft SQL Server queries.
• Develop and maintain stored procedures, views and other database objects.
• Investigate user-reported system issues and provide resolutions.
• Assist with testing and deployment of application updates.
• Refactor and improve legacy code while protecting system stability.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, performance and maintainability.
• Document technical changes and share knowledge with the team.
• Work with the senior developer to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in future system improvements and modernisation discussions.
