Job summary

Pronel Personnel is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join a well-established manufacturing environment. The role is hands-on, focusing on developing and enhancing software solutions, supporting IT systems, and solving business problems.

You will work with JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP to build web applications, manage MSSQL/MySQL databases, and contribute to IT management as responsibilities expand into a hybrid Software Developer / IT Management role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development.
• Strong knowledge and experience in SQL, specifically MSSQL and MySQL.
• Strong web development skills, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP.
• Experience with Delphi, C/C++, C# and Python would be advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent organisational and follow-up skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web-based applications using technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, CSS and PHP.
• Develop and manage MSSQL and MySQL databases, including SQL programming and queries.
• Maintain and improve existing custom-developed software systems.
• Develop new applications and solutions to improve operational efficiency.
• Identify problems within the operational environment and develop solutions independently.
• Maintain and manage the company intranet.
• Manage and support system upgrades and migrations.
• Assist with potential migration of Exchange, SQL, domain controller and file server systems to the cloud.
• Provide software support across various business systems.
• Procure and implement new software solutions where required.
• Liaise with external consultants where necessary.
• Oversee and allocate workloads to two IT team members.
• Develop into a hybrid Software Developer / IT Management role, ensuring the smooth running of the IT function.
