Job summary

PRO Personnel Employment Agency is seeking a Working Maintenance Foreman (Plant Fitter) for a company specialising in sustainable agricultural growing mediums. This hands-on leadership role requires diagnosing, repairing and maintaining plant equipment while guiding a small maintenance team.

You will oversee preventative maintenance, minimize downtime and work closely with production teams. Overtime and after-hours breakdowns are part of the job in a farm-based production environment.

Qualifications

• Artisan-trained Diesel Plant Fitter or General Plant Fitter.
• Minimum 2 years' post-trade supervisory experience.
• Proven leadership of a maintenance team.
• Strong fault-finding and repair capabilities.
• Experience with preventative maintenance planning.
• Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge.
• Valid driver's licence and own transport to Bokfontein.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on mechanical maintenance and fault-finding on machinery.
• Lead, coordinate and support a maintenance team.
• Plan and execute preventative maintenance schedules.
• Respond to breakdowns and urgent mechanical failures.
• Diagnose mechanical and basic electrical faults.
• Maintain maintenance records and equipment histories.
• Manage tools, spare parts and repair needs.
• Ensure lockout/tagout and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with production teams to improve reliability.
