Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matric is required.
• Technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Diesel Mechanics, or related field is advantageous.
• Previous experience in a technical, mechanical workshop or equipment maintenance environment is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools and equipment.
• A valid driver’s licence will be advantageous or required depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with servicing, maintenance, and repair of equipment and machinery.
• Perform routine inspections to identify faults, wear, and potential mechanical issues.
• Assist senior technicians with troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems.
• Carry out basic mechanical repairs and component replacements under supervision.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organised, and safe.
• Follow maintenance schedules, technical procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Assist with preparation of equipment for delivery, operation, or customer use.
• Report faults, maintenance requirements, and repair progress to senior technicians.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete relevant job cards and documentation.
• Provide assistance with on-site repairs and servicing when required.
• Deliver professional service and support to customers when needed.
