Job summary

iOCO in Sandton is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to operate inside an AWS native banking environment. You will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC, environment provisioning, and the developer tooling that delivery squads rely on daily in a PCI-DSS setting.

You will work alongside architects, security engineers, and platform teams to strengthen observability, incident response, and resilient deployment patterns, with a strong emphasis on code and automation. This hybrid role is based in Sandton.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
• Hands-on experience in AWS environment, preferably in financial services with PCI‑DSS compliant systems.
• Demonstrable track record implementing CI/CD pipeline automation.
• Strong AWS workload automation experience covering provisioning and configuration rollout.
• Practical experience implementing observability for hybrid and cloud-based environments.
• Strong working knowledge of networking principles and protocols.
• Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework and applying it in practice.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines across the delivery estate.
• Automate AWS workload provisioning and configuration deployment using IaC.
• Build and operate deployment automation and environment management.
• Harden developer experience templates and self-service tooling.
• Integrate security and compliance controls into pipelines and infrastructure secrets management.
• Translate business requirements into scalable delivery solutions aligned to AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Work hands-on across an AWS estate, integrating cloud-native services with on-premises systems.
