Qualifications

• BCom degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Completed accounting articles would be beneficial for progression.
• Experience managing the full accounting function through month-end reporting.
• Hands-on with cashbooks, debtors, creditors, bank reconciliations and VAT.
• Payroll processing experience including wages, overtime and advances.
• Knowledge of Sage Evolution and Pastel Payroll is advantageous.
• Ability to handle multiple accounts and maintain accuracy.
• Strong attention to detail, self-discipline and time management.
• Ability to work independently and attend the office regularly.
• Availability to start in November would be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting function for one entity.
• Maintain cashbooks and reconcile bank, credit card, call and loan accounts.
• Manage debtors and creditors, including invoicing and payments.
• Prepare and load payments for director authorisation.
• Complete month-end processing and prepare monthly financial reports for the director.
• Prepare VAT returns and SARS submissions and payments.
• Process payroll for approximately 60 employees, with runs on 15th and month-end.
• Process casual wages, salary advances and approved overtime.
• Coordinate with the administrator on timesheets and supporting information.
• Maintain accurate records for the auditor and year-end processes.
