Job Description
A law firm known for legal excellence and professional integrity is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced half-day Accountant to support their finance team in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts

Process daily and monthly accounting transactions, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, and petty cash

Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier reconciliations and client invoicing

Prepare and assist with monthly management reports and financial statements

Assist in preparation for year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors

Ensure compliance with tax obligations including VAT, PAYE, and other statutory filings

Support budgeting and forecasting processes

Assist with ad-hoc financial and administrative tasks as required by the finance team

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Professional registration (e.g., SAIPA, SAICA, CA or equivalent) is highly advantageous

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a legal firm or professional services environment
  • Experience working with trust accounts and knowledge of Legal Practice Act compliance is a strong advantage but not a necessity
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and relevant regulations

Skills and Attributes:
