SUMMARY :

Our client is looking for an experienced and reliable Guesthouse Manager to run multiple upmarket guesthouses in Durban. The role includes managing bookings, staff, housekeeping, and overall guest experience. It’s a hands-on position suited to someone organised, service-focused, and confident managing day-to-day operations.

POSITION INFO : Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Reservations :

  • Manage bookings, check-ins, and guest communication.
  • Handle reservation systems, including NightsBridge (experience with NightsBridge is a strong advantage).
  • Provide warm, professional hospitality with a guest-first mindset.

Operational Oversight :

  • Conduct regular room checks and ensure high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Oversee quality control, general maintenance, and overall appearance of the properties.
  • Handle procurement and shopping for guesthouse supplies as needed.
  • Staff Management :

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of cleaning and kitchen staff.
  • Ensure service delivery aligns with four-star expectations.
  • Availability & Responsiveness :

  • Flexible and reachable after hours for occasional urgent matters, in line with the nature of the hospitality environment.
  • Requirements

  • Experience in a management or supervisory role within the hospitality industry is essential.
  • NightsBridge system experience is highly advantageous.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport.
  • Strong sense of integrity, emotional maturity, and professionalism.
  • Naturally service-focused, detail-oriented, and calm under pressure.
  • Able to handle guest complaints and unexpected situations with discretion and composure.
