Job description

From first concept to the final stitch, every Jonsson Workwear garment is meticulously designed and developed for performance. But before our workwear goes into production, each detail is fine-tuned to ensure it's ready for efficient, high-quality manufacturing.

Driving our production excellence are those who engineer and refine our manufacturing processes. To ensure our manufacturing teams continue operating at their best, we're looking for a methodical, improvement-focused IEES Analyst to join our Garment Technology team in Durban.

In this essential role, you'll help shape how garments move from concept to bulk production by collaborating closely with our Product Development team at our HQ in Durban, as well as our factories across Southern Africa.

With your strategic eye for efficiency, you'll set fair standards that are backed by data to guide how we make our workwear. By optimising resources and reducing lead times, you'll help our manufacturing teams work smarter, ultimately upholding our promise of dependable quality and faster delivery.

The skills and experience that will make you a solid fit for this role:

  • A relevant qualification in Work Study, with a proven track record in operational breakdowns, line balancing and applying GSD standards.
  • A sound understanding of the sewing manufacturing industry.
  • Studying toward, or completed, a qualification in Industrial Engineering would be an added advantage.

The practical, solutions-focused thinker best suited to this role will be required to:

  • Use GSD methodology to create accurate labour breakdowns for costing, aligned with the latest and most efficient manufacturing methods.
  • Ensure labour breakdowns take into account available machinery, current line setups and the skills in each factory.
  • Observe and audit factory lines to identify smarter ways of working, and provide optimal line balances that maximise efficiency across teams.
  • Maintain alignment between costed SMVs and actual SMVs for pre-production and bulk production, by style.
  • Analyse quality results and recommend improvements for smoother, more efficient production.

In line with Jonsson Workwear's commitment to employment equity, applications from candidates from designated groups, as well as candidates with disabilities, are encouraged.
