We are hiring a Manager of Group Financial Reporting to lead the preparation of group financial statements, consolidated statutory results and accounting notes in compliance with IFRS.
This is a hands-on technical finance role that requires precision, IFRS expertise, and cross-border financial reporting expertise that is essential to the output of your work. As the Group Financial Reporting Manager, you’ll be responsible for consolidating financial statements across multiple African regions and entities, ensuring compliance, driving IFRS implementations, as well as preparing, compiling, and reviewing high-quality group reports.
We need someone who has the ability to manage various entity reporting and consolidations in accordance with IFRS throughout the multiple regions and deliver real-time insights to leadership. You’ll work closely with teams across different African locations, guiding them through consolidations, hedge accounting and financial reporting with technical depth and a clear strategic approach while offering guidance, leadership and mentorship to these teams.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified accountant (CA (SA))
- Must have 3-4 years of post-qualification experience in financial reporting and consolidation in a group structure
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Big 4 background preferred, with experience in a multi-entity, cross-border environment
- Must have deep technical IFRS knowledge, including hedge accounting
- IFRS 9 knowledge or project experience is highly advantageous - IFRIC 12 exposure is beneficial
- Strong financial consolidation experience, ideally within an international company
- Appropriate experience in an accounting, consolidation, or reporting role
- Expertise in financial and management accounting, including current accounting practices and methods
- Financial consolidation systems experience (IFS system currently in us, highly advantageous)
- Previous experience working in a global organisation across multiple regions is desirable
- Professional confidence—able to engage with senior stakeholders in Africa as well as Europe, present complex financials clearly and influence decision-making
- Experience working across African markets is a plus but not essential
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation
- Lead the preparation of consolidated financial statements across multiple entities
- Drive technical accounting projects, including acquisitions, disposals, and IFRS policy implementation
Controls and Compliance
- Oversee group-level accounting controls, ensuring integrity across financial systems
- Ensure tax calculations and statutory filings are completed accurately and on time
