Job summary

Job Specification

• Grade 11 or equivalent qualification
• Recognised Trade Certificate as a Fitter and Turner (Section 13 or Section 26D)
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in an underground mining operation
• Experience and knowledge working in a grout plant is essential
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Proactive and safety-conscious attitude
• High attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime as required
• Valid driver’s license and own transportation
• South African Citizenship
• Clear Criminal Record
• Declared medically fit by our Occupational Medical Practitioner (OMP)

Responsibilities

• Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance on pumps, valves, mixers, compressors, and piping systems
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical faults and failures on plant equipment
• Maintain equipment logs and complete job cards accurately and timely
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality standards
• Participate in plant shutdowns and overhauls as required
• Collaborate with plant operators and engineers to ensure smooth operations
• Perform all health and safety duties on the mine as per Gold One Group Limited standards
• Adhere to MHSA standards and Gold One’s safety motto: "Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely."
