Job description

The Group Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Sustainability, and Risk Manager (the Manager) is responsible for ensuring that the Group complies with, develops, and implements all Health and Safety, Sustainability, and Risk policies, procedures, and relevant legislation and regulations.

The Manager must develop a systematic approach for implementation throughout the Group and independently advise, monitor, and audit compliance across the organization.

The Manager owns the OHS, Sustainability, Risk, and Compliance strategies, ensuring effective delivery and implementation to provide expert knowledge on proactive management of these portfolios.

GOVERNANCE :
  • Design, implement, operate, and manage the Group's Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability, and Risk Management System.
  • Provide advisory services on legislative changes and new regulations affecting the Group’s compliance profile (local and international).
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY (OHS):
  • Ensure quality and governance of OHS, Sustainability, and Risk-related matters to management and committees.
  • Establish and manage Risk Committees and related frameworks within the Group.
  • Liaise with internal personnel, external stakeholders, tenants, subject matter experts, and government departments.
  • Draft and implement the OHS legal appointment structure as per legislation.
  • Manage OHS across the Group, including construction regulations and building compliance.
SUSTAINABILITY / ESG :
  • Implement the Group ESG Strategy, Policy, and business practices.
  • Monitor and measure ESG metrics, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Manage contractual obligations and KPIs related to ESG.
  • Set and report on Group ESG Targets and draft annual ESG reports.
ENTERPRISE RISK MANAGEMENT :
  • Develop and socialize an Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF).
  • Train staff and ensure adherence to policies, frameworks, and strategies.
  • Monitor, report, and audit the application and effectiveness of these policies.
RISK CULTURE :
  • Embed a risk-aware culture reflecting the Group’s Purpose and Values.
  • Establish and manage the OHS, ESG, and Risk Control Frameworks.
ESCALATION :
  • Access all relevant OHS, ESG, and Risk information and escalate unresolved issues to the Property Services Officer.
DATA, SYSTEMS, PROCESSES, AND INTERNAL CONTROL :
  • Design and implement control systems, including organizational structure and delegations.
  • Ensure accurate recording of ESG and compliance data.
  • Identify, log, and manage risks and non-conformances.
  • Ensure minimum legal compliance and effective operational processes.
TEAM MANAGEMENT :
  • Develop and manage a team of high-performing OHS, ESG, and Risk professionals.
  • Drive continuous improvement and ensure independence of the risk function.
OTHER PROJECTS :
  • Lead additional projects to add value, including presentations and training for senior executives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
  • B-degree or equivalent in subjects covering OHS, Risk Management, Compliance, ESG.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Facilities and Property Management, ESG, OHS, and Risk Management.
  • Proven managerial experience in these fields.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & COMPETENCIES :
  • Knowledge of building systems, occupational health and safety management, and ESG policies.
  • Strong relationship-building and leadership skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement risk management and compliance practices.
