Group Legal Advisor / HR Manager

An opportunity exists at our client for an energetic, can-do approach, admitted attorney to join their team.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Employee Relations: Provide advice and support on HR issues to employees and management, in keeping with HR practices and culture.
  2. Industrial Relations: Ensure the company disciplinary code and policies comply with all statutory Acts, advising management on disciplinary code and procedures. Deal with Bargaining Council and unions as a prerequisite.
  3. Recruitment and Retention: Take overall responsibility for recruitment activity.
  4. HR Administrative System: Maintain an effective system, including employment contracts, relevant reporting, and ensure proper operation of all HR processes.
  5. Training and Development: Identify needs, implement suitable programs, evaluate outcomes, develop and compile ATR and WSP, liaise with FP&M Seta, and manage employee induction programs.
  6. Policies and Procedures: Ensure all company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with legislation.
  7. Employment Equity: Update EE Plan and Reports, conduct EE committee meetings, and submit reports to the Department of Labour.
  8. Legal Advice: Advise and assist with all legal matters for all companies in the group. This will be a major role.
  9. Travel: Travel nationally from time to time as required.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • HR & IR Degree
