A leading automotive manufacturer in Pinetown is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee production targets, manage logistics, and lead a team of operators. - Ensure meeting of production targets (Volume).
- Conduct daily start-up meetings and Operations meetings.
- Lead & develop operators.
- Manage staff time and attendance, plan absentee cover.
- Identify quality defects and supervise implementation of countermeasures.

- Lead & develop operators.
- Manage staff time and attendance, plan absentee cover, and control manpower.
- Identify quality defects and supervise implementation of countermeasures in logistics.
- Meet logistics quality targets.
- Ensure receipt, proper binning, and allocation of all parts.
- Balance stock using the MRP system.
- Issue work-in-progress parts and complete shortage reports.
- Perform stock adjustments.
- Ensure timely delivery of parts to the line as per schedule and picking list.
- Log shortages and follow up on availability.
- Drive continuous improvement activities, e.g., Kaizen, quality improvement plans.
- Follow safe work practices and implement health & safety measures.
- Implement and coordinate the 5S concept, meeting zone-specific targets.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles within the department.
- Contribute actively to monthly production and efficiency targets.
- Participate in operations room meetings and investigate production deviations, reporting countermeasures.
- Follow ISO procedures and protocol book instructions.
- Log and follow up on parts shortages.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the production plant.
- Coordinate with Logistics and Magic to action identified new stillages and update records.
- Liaise with the Operations Manager regarding stock discrepancies.
- Ensure parts are identified and traceable in logistics.
- Ensure operators follow protocol book instructions and comply with QF processes.
- Investigate deviations to quality targets and define countermeasures.
- Focus on waste reduction and minimize consumable use.
- Support all Kaizen activities.
- Ensure equipment maintenance and minimize reworks and scrap.
- Ensure staff understand process information and work instructions.
- Understand and implement customer production change requests.
- Monitor quality and quantity checks through sequencing.
- Handle disciplinary issues, poor performance, misconduct, and attendance.
- Develop operators to maximize performance via ILU.
- Motivate staff and appraise operator performance.
- Facilitate daily green area meetings and update visual boards.
- Enforce compliance with health, safety, and PPE rules.
- Report machine breakdowns promptly.
- Maintain good 5S and housekeeping practices.
- Ensure machines have safety guards, signs, and instructions.
- Ensure the correct PPE is worn at all times.
- Address unsafe working conditions immediately.
