Job description

Our client is seeking a Group Leader Civil Engineer for their team in Secunda, Mpumalanga.

Responsibilities:

1. Establish, build, and grow a civil engineering team to perform civil engineering design supporting company projects.
2. Perform quality assurance on civil engineering designs by external companies.
3. Provide procurement and construction support during projects.
4. Develop work procedures in line with ISO 9000 and existing company culture.
5. Develop business from existing and potential new clients, managing the civil engineering profit center.
6. Quantify requirements and establish contracts with key clients.
7. Ensure group productivity in terms of finances, contract management, technical integrity, schedule, and customer service.
8. Lead by example, maintaining respect and calmness in all situations.
9. Position based in Secunda (office-based).

Requirements:

• B Eng / BSc Eng in Civil Engineering with at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (in good standing).
• Experience in detailed engineering on multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM projects.
• Experience in civil structures and foundations in the petrochemical industry, with hands-on experience or proper exposure to manufacturing of designs.
• Self-driven with examples demonstrating initiative.
• Strong leadership, organizational skills, and ability to manage financial and team well-being.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to market services.
• Commitment to knowledge sharing and development of young employees.
• Awareness of economic and business trends.
• Organized and self-disciplined.
• Valid driver’s license and own transport.
